In the 1940s, graduate chapters of Zeta Phi Beta began to realize the importance of the prestige, good-will, and cooperation of women, whom for various reasons, were not members of any Greek-letter organization, but believed in and wanted to support the ideals of Zeta. For this reason, the Zeta Amicae Auxiliary, also known as “Friends of Zeta”, was formed in 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska making Zeta the first sorority to organize an auxiliary group. The Zeta Amicae are sponsored by a Zeta graduate chapter, but functions independently as its own organization parallel to the graduate chapter.
The Amicae of Upsilon Omega Zeta are always interested in welcoming women into their fold who support the ideals and goals of Zeta Phi Beta. Friends and relatives of Zeta members who have not completed a college degree are especially encouraged to apply for membership. For more information on becoming a member of the Amicae, please contact the Amicae Advisor at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Zeta Amicae are sponsored by a Zeta graduate chapter, but functions independently as its own organization parallel to the graduate chapter. The fee for annual membership is determined by National Headquarters and is instituted by the local chapter. New membership fee will include assessments and fees (as determined by the chapter in alignment with the requirements of the national office). Membership fees are due annually and will cover the fiscal year July 1st through June 30th.
